Debbie Malloy-Thorpe has been a Florida resident since 1986, when she moved south from Michigan. In 1995, she and her two children discovered the Town of Lake Placid and have lived there ever since.  Lake Placid and Sebring remind them of the summers they enjoyed in Michigan on the fresh water lakes, but with warmer weather all year around.

In 1997, Debbie began her career in Real Estate and was honored as "Rookie of the Year" for Lake Placid.  Always trying to improve her professional skills, she completed a Dale Carnegie course, in which she was presented with the "Highest Award for Achievement" in her class.  Debbie was invited to join the “Leadership of Highlands County Program" in 2004.   She served as a Director on the Lake Placid Board of Realtors for 3 years in Lake Placid, and she is currently a Director on the Board of the Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce, where she participates in Board functions that benefit our community.

Debbie has consistently been a Top Producing Realtor in Highlands County for 10 years.  In 2004 she was in the Top 5 Agents in Lake Placid.  That same year, she received the Humanitarian Award, and was nominated for “Realtor of the Year.”  Debbie has been recognized as the "Top Producing Real Estate Agent"  for her office in 2006,  when she received the Gold Award for Top Unit Sales, The Gold Award for Greatest Number of Listings, The Gold Award for Sales Volume in Listings and where she also received the Bronze Award for Listings by Volume.
